Join Engineers Without Borders at Umeå university as Volonteer
Engineers Without Borders Sweden is a volunteer based and value driven organization Engineering for Humanity. For over 15 years, we have been driven by a single goal: build a sustainable future for communities around the world. With sustainability and long-term thinking as guidance, we mobilize our engineering expertise to provide innovative solutions empowering communities today and ensure their resilience tomorrow.
Now, a brand-new local group is launching in Umeå – and we’re looking for you to join our team! We’re in the exciting early stages of building a community passionate about using engineering to create a sustainable and equitable future. As we grow, we are eager to develop projects related to Inspire Youth, The Reflective Engineer, and International Projects, and we’re looking for motivated people to join us on this journey. Whether you want to take on a leadership role or be an active member, you’ll have the chance to help shape the future of EWB Umeå from the ground up.
What can you expect as volonteer?
- Being part of launching new initiatives with guidance from a trusted national network.
- Building meaningful relationships and expanding your professional and personal network.
- Playing an active role in projects that make a real difference in communities.
- Developing your skills and deepening your understanding in the areas you care about.
What do we expect from you as a volonteer?
- Interested in volunteering and contributing your time.
- Living in or near Umeå, Sweden.
- Passionate about the mission and values of Engineers Without Borders.
- Enjoy working together with others and have strong teamwork skills.
- Motivated, organized, and able to manage tasks effectively.
- Skilled at engaging people and building communities or networks.
- Creative and open to finding new, innovative solutions.
- Responsible and committed to driving projects forward until completion.
Practical Information
- Start date: As soon as possible, with a flexible onboarding period leading up until the start of the semester.
- Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week.
- Location: Umeå university, Umeå.
