Umeå Institute of Design is looking for a student who wants to help out in the school's workshops.
Responsibilities
The work as an assistant professor means that you will be employed by the university and work at Umeå Institute of Design.
- Various service and maintenance work.
- Inspection and maintenance of machines for digital manufacturing (lasers, 3D printers, cutting machines).
- Control and maintenance of the workshop's machines in terms of safety devices and function.
- Ensure that there is order and order in the workshop premises.
- Provide materials to other students.
- Lock and shut down operations if necessary.
- Provide support to building technicians.
- Instruct other students in different techniques (if time permits).
If you are applying for a position as an assistant professor, you must:
- Be enrolled in the Industrial Design Programme or in the Master's Programme at UID.
- Have good social skills.
- Be interested in workshop work according to the duties described above.
It is an advantage if you have experience of similar tasks.
Terms of Employment
The position is 10% of full-time during the autumn semester 2025 and the spring semester 2026. The employment starts on 1 October 2025 or as otherwise agreed and begins with you being introduced and trained in your duties by experienced staff at Umeå Institute of Design.
