About the role
We are looking for our new Head of group Accounting to lead our proficient and talented team of Group accountants. This is a critical leadership role within our finance function, responsible for the integrity, quality, and timeliness of our group financial reporting.
As a key member of the Sinch finance team, you will set the standard for best-in-class financial reporting across the Sinch Group and be instrumental in supporting decision-making at the highest level. You will work closely with Sinch Corporate FP&A organization, Group tax, Sinch Financial reporting and Financial control functions amongst other.
The role report to the SVP Corporate control and is based at Sinch HQ in Stockholm, Sweden.
Overall responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing and reviewing the group consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS
- Responsible for managing the team supporting and driving the group closing process
- Responsible for setting requirements on financial data reporting for Sinch Group
- Prepare and review group consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for all subsidiaries in the group.
- Work closely with finance teams across the group to ensure consistent accounting practices.
- Overall co-ordinate the external audits, fees and work performed by external auditors.
- Overall co-ordinate the internal audit follow up for finance.
- Develop and improve group accounting policies and controls.
- Develop and implement a financial internal control framework and assessment
- Ensure IFRS expertise in group accounting and establish IFRS expert networks to organisation.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparations and submission of financial reports (Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reports).
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Collaborate with local finance teams across the group.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Own the development and adoptions to our consolidation tool Aaro.
- Process ownership of relevant processes within Record to Report.
- Manage and develop the key talent and resources within the Group Accounting team
To be successful in the role you have strong proficiency in group consolidation and reporting, a collaborative mindset, and a strong self- drive to improve and refine processes and systems. You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven track record of managing teams and leading through change and strong people mindset
- Minimum 10 years of experience in group accounting or consolidation
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP
- Proficiency in ERP and consolidation systems and advanced Excel skills
- Data Analysis: Strong skills in analysing data sets to identify trends and discrepancies
- Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and best practices
- Experience from M&A
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
