We are a critically acclaimed Swedish game development studio with about 190 experienced and skilled employees. We are most well-known for developing the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

The role
We are looking for an experienced or senior Technical Artist to join the game team for our exciting unannounced project! You will be responsible for character-related shader and feature development and build upon our character art production pipeline, working closely with our game designers, artists and programmers to help create convincing and dynamic characters.
Our team and work environment is highly agile, collaborative and creative, giving individual team members a lot of influence along with responsibility. You will tie disciplines together and develop, maintain and support tools that streamline workflows for artists and production teams. We are in the early stages of something exciting, so we need you to be an excellent problem solver with strong communication skills.
What you'll do
- Research, define, improve, and maintain pipelines, tools, and workflows
- Develop and support character customization and modularity features
- Create and maintain high-quality and performant shaders
- Develop complex character-related features, such as dismemberment and gore
- Act as liaison between character artists, animators and technical animators
- Manage in-game performance of character-related assets
- Stay-up-to-date with industry trends and new technology to provide innovative solutions to pipeline challenges
- Support our outsourcing partners with tools and processes
Required qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry
- Previously worked with modular character workflows
- Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
- Excellent skills in graph or text-based shader authoring (such as Unreal SG, Unity SG, HLSL)
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Python/Lua) and Blueprints or any other visual scripting languages
- Good understanding of common art workflows and their pros & cons
- Strong drive and a habit of organizing and structuring your own and others work
- Excellent communication skills, including high proficiency in English
Bonus qualifications
- At least 1 previously shipped game
- Proficiency in Maya, Substance Painter, ZBrush or Marmoset
- Experience with the Unreal Mutable plugin or similar systems
- Experience in tools development
- Familiarity with UI development
- Understanding of modern rendering pipelines
- Programming experience with C+

We have a policy of working 4 days in the office per week, with 1 day optional to work from home. The onboarding is being done fully in the office.
