The Opportunity:
- Manage day-to-day operations across a defined set of laboratories
- Act as the primary contact for lab scientists, ensuring seamless communication and support
- Lead lab user groups, floor lead meetings, and reference team sessions
- Coordinate with FM suppliers to maintain lab efficiency with minimal disruption
- Investigate service deviations and implement corrective actions
- Develop SOPs and working guidelines focused on cost-effective reagent and consumable use
- Oversee training of lab support staff to ensure consistent standards
- Conduct lab inductions and facilitate visits from internal/external stakeholders
- Maintain consumable inventories and report to leadership
- Collaborate with IT and service providers to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Manage breakdowns, servicing, and maintenance schedules
- Perform specialist equipment checks and consolidate fault logs
- Drive efficiency and process improvements across lab operations
- Maintain documentation for compliance, training, and service delivery
- Report on KPIs, SLAs, and weekly metrics
- Foster collaboration with FM teams and internal stakeholders
- Support SHE compliance and lead implementation of safety improvements
- Facilitate SHE meetings and audits, ensuring documentation and communication are up to date
- Identify future lab requirements and technological innovations
- Liaise with suppliers for demos and training on new equipment
