Internship Context:
We are looking for a motivated intern to join our QA team and support the development of automated UI tests for our Carephone Management Portal (CMP). This project will introduce the intern to the fundamentals of UI test automation using Selenium WebDriver in C#, with a focus on building a maintainable and scalable test framework.
Project Objective:
- Learn the basics of UI test automation
- Set up a working Selenium test environment
- Write and run automated test cases for CMP
- Understand test design principles and debugging techniques
- Interact with the carephone device via serial communication
- Gain hands-on experience with automation tools and workflows
Key Deliverables:
Week 1:
- Introduction to UI testing concepts
- Set up development environment (IDE, Selenium, browser drivers)
- Write and run a basic test (e.g., open page and verify title)
Week 2:
- Learn about element locators (ID, XPath, CSS)
- Write tests to interact with forms (input, buttons)
- Create reusable helper methods
Week 3:
- Implement serial communication with the carephone
- Add assertions and error handling
Week 4:
- Refactor code for clarity and reusability
- Run a small automated test suite
- Add basic test data handling (JSON or CSV)
