As an Industrial Design Lead your role will be twofold. One part will be hands-on in the work we do but also to lead an interdisciplinary team with the ability to work on a multitude of products within the Einride ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include being a substantial part of the product development process all the way from the first user insights and ideas to implementation and scaling for mass production.
The second responsibility lies within a newly formed initiative - As of 2025 Einride design team is now also offering our design services to a selected few external clients. Einride plan to build the best design team within technology and innovation - Offering services within Visual design, Marketing, Product design & Industrial design.
We will lead with making great work and that will attract the right people and clients that are onboard with the type of work we want to put into the world.
As Lead in any part of our offering, you will be the most senior person in that role. You will steer the creative vision, while forging strong relationships with external clients or stakeholders at Einride and overseeing complex, multi-functional projects across various domains. Your entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving approach will thrive in these environments, and you need to be hands-on and also make sure that the people in your team have the best setup for doing a great job - That means you will need to be the person with the answers.
You will:
- Lead the industrial design team, a small but growing group, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Engage with and secure external clients, taking responsibility for selling, packaging, and presenting your part of our offering. This includes understanding their business challenges, guiding them toward effective creative solutions, developing impactful presentations, and leading new business pitches.
- Drive the entire product development lifecycle, from initial idea and user insights to final launch. This involves defining objectives and constraints, conducting thorough product research (functional, commercial, aesthetic), and packaging successful cases for future clients.
- Formulate and communicate compelling design concepts for products within the Einride ecosystem (Automotive / Industrial / Consumer Products). You'll prepare sketches, CAD models, diagrams, illustrations, plans, samples, customer journey maps, and physical models to effectively convey your vision.
- Negotiate design solutions with relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Strategically select and specify materials, production methods, and finishes, and oversee the preparation of prototypes, CAD files, tooling, and the overall manufacturing process.
- Ensure consistently high design quality in all deliverables, collaborating closely with our product and tech teams, and taking the lead on design projects to continuously improve them.
- Visualize the Einride vision for the future.
What we expect of you:
- Long solid experience in designing innovative high-quality hardware products.
- Comfortable working with software such as: NURBS CAD tools like Rhino, Autodesk Alias, Polygon modelling tool like Blender or similar. Rendering tools like Keyshot, V-Ray, VRED, Maxwell render or similar. And Adobe Creative Cloud Package.
- Fantastic design skills and sense of form that should be showcased in your portfolio.
- You master the art of digital sketching and visualization
- A good understanding of manufacturing techniques and collaboration with engineers.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment where you continuously get to develop meaningful ideas and deliver real impact to our users.
- Experience from a design agency/studio.
A bonus if:
- You have an understanding and interest in A-Class surfacing
- You have an understanding in mechanical design
- You have an interest in digital products, interface design, graphic design, UX Design
