About the job
The Business Controller is part of the finance department but works very closely with the Sales and Marketing department. You report to the Director of Group Business Control with dotted lines to the VP of Sales and Marketing.
As a business controller at Nynas, you will be part of the Treasury, planning and Business controllers’ team, which consists of 13 colleagues who all have different areas of responsibility in the business. In this role you will have Bitumen operations as your dedicated area of responsibility. You will be based at our head office in Stockholm.
About the role
As a Business Controller, you act as a bridge between the finance department and Sales and Marketing, ensuring that the financial strategy aligns with the overall business objectives. The role is essential for maintaining financial integrity and optimizing performance through analysis and inter-department communications/collaboration.
The role is wide and has elements of different tasks that are recurring on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Your focus will be to deliver financial insights that drive informed decision-making and support the organization’s profitable growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Regular forecasting includes weekly liquidity and monthly performance forecasts.
- Provide actionable insights on revenue streams, cost drivers, and margin opportunities to support profitable growth.
- Produce financial reports on internal and external performance
- Prepare Stewardships reporting to support business transparency and accountability
- Monitor, control and optimize costs across your area of responsibility.
- Ad-hoc reporting tasks
- Conduct and support cost-benefit analyses, identifying inefficiencies, and highlighting cost-saving initiatives.
About you
We believe you have a background as a Controller, with strong analytical skills. You enjoy working with data, particularly in Excel and Power BI, and are confident in communicating both numbers and their implications in a clear and engaging way. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and capable of driving improvements based on your analysis. Further, you are structured and can work independently.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a controller, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong skills in financial analysis, reporting, and cost control.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written; Swedish proficiency is considered a plus.
