Hello potential future Oatly employee,
It’s us, the original oat drink company that started in Sweden nearly 30 years ago and we need more brilliant minds to come work with us to keep the momentum going and the oat drink flowing.
Sustainability, health, and transparency are the core values that guide everything we do. Basically, we exist to make it easy for people to eat better and live healthier lives without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process.
If you’re looking for a place where corporate jargon and rigid hierarchies reign supreme, this might not be the gig for you. However, if like us, you believe in big and bold ideas, and a bit of fun along the way, then you should absolutely read on!
We are looking for an Art Director to join our team from mid-October 2025 to end of April 2026.
The role reports into the Executive Creative Director for our DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Poland and UK & Ireland markets.
The role requires native/full professional proficiency in English, and is based in Sweden (Malmö, Stockholm or Gothenburg).
One small but important thing: we can’t offer relocation or visa sponsorship for this role, so you’ll need to already have the right to live and work in Sweden.
Our creatives are part of the Oatly Department of Mind Control (ODMC), an idea machine embedded in Oatly that creates rule-breaking, trend-defying, laugh-inducing, behavior-changing, doesn’t-look-like-advertising work.
ODMC runs on the energy of people who don’t fit in traditional, rigid environments.
You’ll thrive here if you tick lots of these boxes:
- You have 5+ years’ experience as an Art Director, with a strong foundation in graphic design. You work independently and deliver bold and innovative ideas for 360° campaigns, from video to social, activations, in-store, and events.
- You’re social to the core: Social-first thinking shapes your biggest ideas. You instinctively create for what grabs attention, gets shared, and scales. You naturally explore BIG ideas, unconventional formats, platform-native storytelling, potential collaborators, and creative ways to get noticed by communities and culture makers. You’re fluent in trends and platforms, understand how to make ideas stick, and know how to make them travel.
- You can clearly articulate and defend your creative vision and you’ve got the craft to bring it to life.
- You’re a brand guardian, keeping Oatly’s voice and look consistent, vibrant, and unmistakable across touchpoints.
- “Anything can be a creative opportunity” is your mantra.
- You can pivot quickly and inventively when plans change.
- Your portfolio is full of self-propelling ideas that spark conversations, inspire sharing, and create real buzz, especially on social.
- You’re fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with bonus points for After Effects or Premiere.
- You’ve managed still photo and film shoots from pitch to post.
- You’re the teammate everyone’s happy to see on the project—ego-free, communicative, supportive, and detail-driven, with a knack for making the work (and the process) better.
- You want to do good work that does good and you connect with our mission to encourage health, sustainability, and transparency.
