Nordvision is looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of European Affairs for our Brussels office.
Position Overview
Our new Director is leading and implementing a joint Nordic EU engagement initiative. The role of the Director is to amplify the collective voice of Nordic public service media within the European Union.
The position requires the ability to work independently in Brussels and in close cooperation with the members of Nordvision.
Permanent residence in Brussels is not a requirement, but the Director is expected to work from Brussels three to five days per week. Our office is in central Brussels in a dynamic office space with the European Broadcasting Union.
The Director reports directly to the Director Generals and to heads of strategy from the Nordvision organizations.
Key Responsibilities
The Director has three overall responsibilities:
1. EU Engagement Strategy and Advocacy
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive EU engagement strategy.
- Define objectives, priorities, and KPIs for the initiative.
- Establish a roadmap for a lasting and proactive presence in Brussels.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring and adapting to EU policy developments.
- Advocate the values and priorities of Nordic public service media.
2. Monitoring and Reporting
- Provide monthly updates on relevant EU policy developments and legislative proposals and ad hoc updates to Nordic Director Generals, heads of strategy, and policy leads when relevant.
- Prepare biannual progress reports detailing achievements, challenges, strategic and concrete recommendations.
3. Communication
- Promote Nordic public service media values to European audiences.
- Highlight the importance of media freedom and public service values in EU policymaking.
Kvalifikationer
Qualifications
The Director should have a variety of experiences and skills:
- Understanding of the media industry and public service broadcasting
- Proven experience in EU affairs, public policy, or advocacy, preferably within the media or cultural sectors.
- Strong understanding of EU institutions, legislative processes, and stakeholder dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of a Nordic language is an asset.
Remuneration
- Nordvision offers a market-based salary package plus housing in Brussels. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by agreement.
