As a Smart Hands Engineer...
You will gain unique insight into the datacenter operations of a large international telecom operator. You will be part of a highly motivated team responsible for operations and installations of network equipment, servers, storage devices, all things connected to previous and AI platforms. In this role, you will primarily work on HW installations and cabling to incident management, analyzing, reporting, and resolving incidents while continuously learning and growing in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Tasks also include managing and guiding vendor and 3rd party field engineers working with us in Sweden and in other Nordic countries. Not forgetting the documentation.
You will actively collaborate across different stakeholders in Telia to overcome challenges, contribute to operations, incident and change management automation initiatives, and support the team in delivering exceptional service. This position requires you to work in secure Datacenter facilities as part of 24/7 on-call group.
Who we're looking for…
We’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, problem solving mindset, resilience, willingness to learn and a service-oriented mindset. A technical degree or certification in Telecom, IT, or Networks is valuable, but more important is your ambition to learn, adapt, and support a team that values collaboration and precision. You must also be able to work outside of regular office hours, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating on-call schedule and hand on work at datacenters. Driving license is required as commuting between datacenters is part of the job.
You have a technical background in Telecom, IT, or networks, and a good understanding of IT hardware. You are fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written. You bring hands-on experience or strong interest in building physical infrastructure, incident management, and ideally, routing and switching technologies. Prior experience in technical customer support is considered a plus. The position will be adjusted on the skill levels you bring as junior or senior engineer.
