Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore, and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon.

Who are you?
Are you passionate about technology, leadership, and driving innovation? We’re looking for a proactive and forward-thinking Cab Climate System Leader to join our Cab Climate section within the Thermal Management Technology stream.
In this role, you'll take the lead in developing our Cab Climate system capabilities, with a strong focus on software, hardware, and functional development. You will drive the evolution of climate systems across all types of drivetrains – from traditional combustion engines to fully electric platforms.
With a strong emphasis on software, we value your experience in leading complex system development, ideally in climate control or related areas. You’re a self-starter with a customer-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and a structured, adaptable approach to change and innovation.
To be successful in this role, we believe that you have the following background and qualification:
- M.Sc in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic engineering or similar technical field of study or equivalent work experience
- Experience from Agile development
- Experience from the automotive industry
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Thermal Management and Cab Climate system development is a great merit
- Volvo experience in project management (PME / PM / Epic leader / System leader) is a merit
What’s in it for you?
As a Cab Climate System Lead within Thermal Management, you will lead and coordinate the development of cab climate system solutions across multiple vehicle product classes. Collaborating closely with the full Thermal Management department and cross-functional teams, you’ll be responsible for planning, tracking, and delivering integrated solutions. You’ll work alongside system leaders and Epic Owners, with a focus on ensuring seamless integration of software and hardware within the cab climate system—and its alignment within the complete vehicle architecture.
