Technology is a new function within Group Digital & IT with a big stake in the Group’s digital transformation. We will modernize Volvo’s core digital backbone making it a platform for digital products. Our Foundational IT products are used by digital product teams and enable them and their products to outperform Volvo’s competitors. Our digital talents develop capabilities and digital technologies to improve business performance and create value for the Group with speed and at scale.
In this position, you will be part of the General & Lease Accounting solution centre in the Finance Core Systems.
Role Description
We are now looking for an SAP Tax Expert to join the New Master Finance team, focused on supporting project initiatives that require specialized tax configuration and integration expertise in S/4 HANA system.
You will:
- Contribute to SAP tax solution design and implementation in global project landscapes.
- Lead tax requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, and functional design for tax configurations and interfaces.
- Ensure robust project delivery in line with business tax compliance in the global tax environments.
- Support tax-related testing, cutover, and deployment activities across SAP projects.
Relevant experience: 15+ years.
Required Technical Skills:
- Deep functional expertise in SAP Tax Consultant in S/4 HANA, including VAT, Sales & Use Tax, and Withholding Tax.
- Strong experience working with tax engines like OneSource or Vertex, and their integration with SAP.
- Proven capability in configuring tax determination, jurisdiction codes, condition records, and tax procedures.
- Experience in project implementations or rollouts involving complex tax requirements across multiple geographies.
- Drive the implementation of global and local tax requirements (e.g., VAT, GST, withholding tax) across SAP FI, SD, MM modules.
- Advise clients or internal stakeholders on tax process design and SAP best practices.
- Ensure compliance with statutory tax reporting, e-invoicing, SAF-T, and digital mandates in relevant jurisdictions.
- Conduct workshops, document functional requirements, and oversee blueprinting phases.
- Supervise testing phases (unit, SIT, UAT) and coordinate issue resolution with technical teams.
- Ability to document functional specifications and collaborate on developments related to tax logic/user exits/BADI.
- Ability to work independently and deliver quality outcomes under tight project timelines.
