We are seeking a research assistant to join projects utilising advanced measurement techniques to investigate brain function and structure (e.g., magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)). The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain research experience and strengthen your academic profile within an exciting interdisciplinary field at the intersection of psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience.
Your mission
As a research assistant, you will take part in conducting experiments carried out in an MRI scanner. You will receive training and supervision to support the execution of these experiments. You will also independently manage collected data, including digitisation and ensuring that all data—ranging from neuroimaging to behavioural and clinical measures—are handled and archived in accordance with current regulations.
The role involves direct contact with participants, including individuals experiencing common psychiatric conditions such as anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances, as part of an ongoing research study. You will also actively assist in recruiting healthy control participants for the same study.
Additional responsibilities include supporting researchers in various cognitive neuroscience projects, for example, by compiling literature and preparing relevant documentation. Over time, there may be opportunities to expand your role and develop independent skills in data management and analysis.
Your profile
We are looking for a meticulous, ambitious, and research-curious individual. You must have a solid foundation in clinical psychology and cognitive neuropsychology. Practical experience in conducting MRI studies is considered an asset (e.g., completed MRI safety training), and some experience with Python and MATLAB programming is advantageous. Prior experience of basic analysis of MRI or PET imaging data is also highly desirable. You should have experience working with similar tasks in a team setting and possess strong collaboration skills. Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English is required. A long-term commitment to the project is advantageous.
