The Opportunity
We're currently looking for a Product Compliance Officer to join our Quality department within the Quality Operations team. In this role, you will ensure product design, manufacturing, and documentation meets legal compliance, coordinate with engineering, legal, and quality teams to implement compliance strategies, support internal audits and external regulatory inspections, and manage critical concerns.
In short, act as a critical safeguard to prevent regulatory violations, product recalls, fines, and reputational damage.
This position is located at Polestar Headquarters, Gothenburg, Sweden.
The Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for managing authority investigations and inquiries related to quality and alleged non-compliance, safety or emission-related components in any product produced by Polestar. You will be the official market contact during investigations as well as creating and/or supporting different regulatory reports that is required by law to be filled depending on the criteria or timing. This role involves coordination of quality matters and quality measures.
Manage and lead critical investigations
Support our R&D department with system and function communication regarding quality and compliance
Report the investigation progress to relevant parties
Issue official responses to sales companies/importers & authorities and record relevant data
Support National Sales Companies and Importers worldwide with critical issues and product inquiries
Take part in risk assessment, local recall regulations, product safety, alleged non-compliance and emission related questions
Monitor, interpret and inform about developments of interest from an authority/compliance perspective
Lead and participate in internal training and presentations within the work area
The Ideal Candidate
To be a great fit for this role, we are searching for you with a great business acumen, with an insight in both customers and products. You have a strong capability of problem-solving and is not afraid of making tough decisions. Taking ownership is a daily practice of yours, and you are an excellent communicator with a great track record in liaising with different parties.
Further on, we are searching for you with:
A degree in engineering, legal, compliance or equivalent that is related to the role
Several years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry
Great ability to read and interpret laws, regulations and texts from authorities
Excellent project management skills.
