As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will work with our equipment’s and investigate problems at the refinery.
About the Job
As a Mechanical Engineer at Nynas, you will be part of the Maintenance department. This department is divided into seven groups: Maintenance Reliability, Maintenance Coordination, Inspection, Warehouse, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation. As a Mechanical maintenance Engineer, you will be reporting to the Maintenance Reliability Manager.
Maintenance Reliability Group is responsible to achieve operational excellence for maintenance reliability in the short and long term, with a focus on continuous improvement and to enhance the reliability of the plant. Responsible for Create Asset Tactics, evaluate present preventive maintenance asset tactics, Top bad actor management, support maintenance technicians and major maintenance revisions.
The job is a permanent position as a technical expert, where the focus is to improve the performance of the assets and ensure the availability and reliability. You will closely cooperate and support the Mechanical Workshop and other organizational departments.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance reliability for refinery equipment.
- Identify and investigate equipment performance and contribute to equipment reliability.
- Be responsible for Criticality classification, Root cause analysis & long-term asset plan for mechanical equipment.
- Develop and apply best practices for installation and maintenance of Mechanical equipment’s, with a focus on rotating equipment.
- Maintain documentation and asset management systems.
- Be responsible for the Preventive Maintenance for Mechanical equipment´s
- Coordinate with Engineering department for Project deliveries.
- Ensure preventive maintenance strategies are effective and up to date
- Lead and support maintenance optimization and reliability improvement project
About you
We are looking for a driven, proactive, and structured individual who thrives in both independent and collaborative work environments. You are result-oriented, analytical, and capable of working under time constraints when necessary.
Requirements needed for the position:
- Several years of experience in a similar role within the petrochemical or comparable process industry.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance, particularly rotating equipment.
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent academic background.
- Strong IT skills and experience working with maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as JDE, API, or equivalent.
- Fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
- Knowledge of Vibration Monitoring, Thermography, and Ultrasound Inspection is a strong advantage.
- Experience with compressors is considered a significant merit.
