Head of Group Tax
We are looking for a new member for the group finance unit to lead a group tax function and report directly to the Group CFO. Head of Group Tax is pivotal in ensuring Telia's tax strategy aligns with its overall business objectives, maintaining compliance, and optimizing tax efficiency.

As the Head of Group Tax, you’ll…
manage a team around 10 highly qualified and experienced tax professionals with diverse areas of tax expertise with whom you hold the primary responsibility and mandate to:
Tax Management: Oversee Telia's income tax and indirect tax, including:
- Legal structure planning
- Capital structure planning
- Transfer pricing model
Tax Planning: Plan and manage Telia Group's Effective Tax Rate (ETR), tax cost, and tax cash flow.
Tax Accounting and Consolidation: Handle tax accounting and consolidation for the Telia Group, including:
- Quarterly and year-end close, ETR, tax cost, tax cash flow, etc
- Review and ensure the quality of tax reporting at the group, entity, and country levels
- Manage the tax internal control process
- Prepare tax notes for quarterly and annual reports
- Provide quarterly and yearly reports to auditors
Tax Forecasting: Develop and manage Telia Group's tax forecast and outlook, including ETR, tax cost, and tax cash flow planning.
Tax Governance: Implement and maintain the tax governance model, including:
- Tax governance documentation
- Internal tax control framework
- Tax website and information sharing
- Internal tax training programs
Transfer Pricing: Oversee Telia's transfer pricing, including:
- Transfer pricing models and planning
- Documentation and benchmarks
Indirect Tax Management: Manage and plan for indirect taxes, primarily VAT and various excise duties.
Tax Litigation: Handle tax litigation, including:
- Contact with tax agencies
- Managing tax audits and litigations
Tax Technology and Processes: Maintain and take a lead in developing tax technology and processes.
M&A Tax Implications: Manage tax implications in M&A transactions, including:
- Leading the tax due diligence process
- Tax optimization and planning
- Risk mitigation
Tax Sustainability Reporting: Oversee tax sustainability reporting.
External Relations: Manage relationships with tax advisors and consultants.
Who we're looking for:
Your experience and leadership qualities:
- At least 15 years of experience in the tax area from the consultancy and listed company group function
- Good knowledge of Swedish tax
- Team management experience
- Modern, communicative and forward-leading leader who collaborates with the business and stakeholders
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, someone who can proactively define and lead the way forward
- Academic degree in the relevant field
- Fluent spoken and written English language skills
