Join Engineers Without Borders at Umeå university as Head of Finance
Engineers Without Borders Sweden is a volunteer based and value driven organization Engineering for Humanity. For over 15 years, we have been driven by a single goal: build a sustainable future for communities around the world. With sustainability and long-term thinking as guidance, we mobilize our engineering expertise to provide innovative solutions empowering communities today and ensure their resilience tomorrow. Now, a brand-new local group is launching in Umeå – and we’re looking for you to join our team!
Who We Are Looking For
No prior experience is required – just bring your motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Are passionate about sustainability, global development, and EWB’s mission.
- Enjoy working with numbers, planning budgets, and staying organized.
- Have a structured and reliable way of working, with a sense of responsibility.
- Are interested in learning (or already familiar with) basic accounting, or financial reporting – such as tracking expenses or preparing simple year-end summaries.
- Feel comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets to manage budgets and keep financial records.
- Collaborate closely with the Group Leader and Vice Group Leader on financial planning, fundraising strategy, and decision-making.
- Communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with others in a team.
As Head of Finance, you'll play a central role in ensuring the financial health of our local group and contribute to building a successful and sustainable EWB chapter from the ground up.
Practical Information
- Start date: As soon as possible, with a flexible onboarding period leading up until the start of the semester.
- Duration: Until May 2026.
- Time commitment: 4 hours per week.
- Location: Umeå university, Umeå.
