How will you make an impact?
The Director Operations, CD BAI Instruments is part of the Biomarkers, Automation and Instrumentation business (BAI) management team in the Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) . BAI provides Analyzers & Assays including the Indiko and KRYPTOR instruments and assays PCT and Licensed Markers and Lab Automation to customers globally. This role is responsible for leading all Operations and Analyzer production of instruments for the business.
This role is Site based at Vantaa, Finland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead teams to achieve optimal balance between inventory levels, plant operating efficiency and effectiveness and customer service levels.
- Ensure supply for the business unit analyzers to meet customer delivery requirements measured by on-time delivery and backorders.
- Drive continuous process improvement and actions to meet customer expectation for supply.
- Ensure implementation of long-range plans to achieve or exceed goals.
- Develop manufacturing budgets and staffing requirements consistent with business unit targets.
- Direct operations to achieve on time delivery, demand-based capacity throughput, safety, quality, cost and continuous improvement through lean leadership.
- Review and approve the implementation of operations, facilities, and organizational objectives that support the annual operation plan
- Ensure production goals are achieved and assure production follows all GMP, ISO, FDA, OSHA and other company manufacturing and safety guidelines. Ensures quality systems are effectively maintained to achieve strong levels of GMP/ISO/FDA/OSHA compliance.
- Responsible for meeting financial targets, key measurements and benchmarks
- Balance supply and demand to achieve the optimal balance between worldwide inventory levels, plant operating efficiency and effectiveness, and on time delivery for the products
- Develop and use close relationships with the commercial leaders to ensure tight alignment with evolving customer requirements. Collaborate with senior leaders of major customers and internal partners to provide outstanding service in line with their expectations
- Ensure effective design transfers and operations capability creation for new products and product changes by leading operations actions and ensuring successful project management
- Represent Vantaa site and Instrument Operations in the BAI and Operations Leadership teams.
- Lead efforts to promote the utilization of Operations personnel including resource management, recruiting, training professional development and performance management.
How will you get here?
Education
- University or advanced technical college degree in Industrial Management, Engineering or other technical subject area.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- 10+ Years of work experience in Operations including leadership responsibility
- Fluent speaking and written language skills in English and Finnish
- Significant experience running GMP and Lean manufacturing organizations and site leadership;
- IVD experience is a plus
- Ability to lead, empower and influence others. Highly hardworking at team building, coaching and mentoring with a passion for inspiring others across the organization
