Position Overview:
Tract is in search of a Director of Scandinavian Market Origination to join our European team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of identifying, originating, and developing the pipeline of investment opportunities in core European markets leveraging your deep local expertise and multi-faceted exposure to complex infrastructure projects. Increasing power demand from digital infrastructure defines our power-lead origination strategy. You will drive grid analysis and regulatory monitoring, understanding and anticipating market trends in terms of location of future data center projects, energy generation assets and power grid expansion projects. You will identify partnership opportunities with energy companies, industrial brownfields and appropriate engagement process with grid operators to secure access to power capacity, leading to identification of specific investment opportunities informing our land acquisition and project development teams. As you build the pipeline of opportunities, you will help informing the investment decisions and managing the communication with the local authorities, utilities and other relevant actors, ensuring our future campuses will be successfully developed and meet our investment strategy. Key Responsibilities include:
· · Gather Market Information / Power System Availability
o Identify data sources, public and non-public on existing utility capacity across the market
o Identify generation resources pending interconnection, with a preference for zero carbon options
o Identify recent, pending and planned transmission network augments
o Evaluate the capability of utilities to meet Tract’s needs, especially related to future large load service at a system level and at a nodal/path level
· · Collaborate on Target Market Selection for Powered Land Products
o Assist in prioritizing specific regions based to secure electron certainty
o Establish a framework for comparing regional attributes and dynamics
o Coordinate with Tract’s Land Strategy team on initial market/utility screens for generation and transmission capacity to qualify land acquisition opportunities.
· · Develop Partner Ecosystem
o Establish relationships with non-utility generation developers that can add components to a data center energy solution
o Develop and execute strategy for executive engagement across regional stakeholders including economic development, utilities, and policy makers.
o Continually cultivate alternatives to traditional utility delivery models to optimize costs, availability and fuel source
· · Utility Engagement,
o Procurement and Partnering
o Work with utility providers to identify attractive sites and regions
o Initiate power studies – system impact, facilities, etc.
o Enter contracts to secure capacity and electrons
o Manage Regulatory Dockets
o Quarterback regulatory approvals, especially when utilities are required to make new investments into their system
o Make official comments on public proceedings to improve or validate utility plans
· · Own the creation and execution of a power supply development program that is optimized across time, cost, reliability, sustainability and points the organization toward future business opportunities.
· · Support investment decision process and further project development after land acquisition. Provide local continuity and overall support to project development and construction efforts.
Required Experience Qualifications:
· · 7 to 10 years of demonstrated infrastructure project management in the core markets, with specific exposure and working experience with energy infrastructure (grid connections, HV lines, substations…) in either development, construction or operation phases.
· · Track record of successfully collaborating with electrical utilities to plan, design, or contract for high voltage infrastructure.
· · Demonstrated expertise collaborating with real estate, economic development, and/or public policy stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects.
· · Ability to translate technical engineering concepts to executives, potential investors, and/or Board members.
· · Demonstrated understanding of permitting process applicable to large infrastructure projects in the core markets, including experience in engagement with regulatory agencies, local authorities and other relevant permitting stakeholders.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
· Economic analysis, engineering or operational familiarity with battery storage, fuel cell, microgrid, grid-scale wind/solar, or similar energy technologies.
· Transmission planning, including technical aspects of power flow models.
· Substation engineering or high voltage project management experience.
· Demonstrated understanding of power market fundamentals.
· Demonstrated understanding of electric utility development and regulatory environment for grid expansion in the core market.
· Demonstrated success writing and delivering due diligence reports for different infrastructure projects (power, water, horizontal and vertical developments…)

Location and Travel:
Work location is remote.
· Regular travel (40%) to explore market opportunities, meet with local authorities/utility leaders in support of projects, and participate to internal and corporate meetings in Europe and corporate offices in the US.
Expected Salary Range:
1,500,000-2,000,000 SEK total compensation (base+ annual bonus)
