Smart Eye is leading the global market for Driver Monitoring Systems, which will soon be a standard component in every car. Monitoring the driver behavior is safety critical both for normal driving as well as for autonomous driving. We are now conducting an exciting and important research project together with VTI, Statens Väg och -transportforskningsInstitut, regarding intoxication while driving. This project takes place at Mantorp Park test track. The project has non-traditional hours with rotating shifts, everything between 6am to 4am. Your work day will be in the car as Safety Driver. For this research project we are now looking for Project Safety Drivers from approximately week 43 until 45 this autumn.

As a Project Safety Driver, you are responsible for the safety of vehicle occupants during intoxicated driving. You will be need to pass a safety driver certification test at the track prior to the data collection project. During the collection you will be in the passenger seat during intoxicated driving. You will have safety controls and be tasked with intervening in the event of unsafe driving. You will also give some instructions to the intoxicated driver, the data collection subject, next to you.
This position is based on-site and in the collection vehicles. You must have a valid Swedish Drivers license and pass the safety certification at the test track.
Location: Mantorp Park, close to Linköping
Must-have-skills:
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Comfortable operating after hours with minimal support.
- Comfortable with being in close proximity to intoxicated individuals.
- Communication skills in English and Swedish.
Work tasks:
- Be vigilant during intoxicated driving and identify unsafe behavior.
- Intervein in the event of unsafe driving and regain control of the vehicle.
- Confident in your driving ability and monitoring others.
- Basic upkeep of vehicles during collections, including basic maintenance if needs, refueling etc.
- Provide training to data collection subjects as required.
- Assisting Smart Eye Test Leaders when needed with non-technical tasks.
- Be a proactive team member, contributing solutions and helping others as necessary.
