Job Overview:
The Field Civil & Structural Engineer applies their knowledge of civil and structural, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward civil & structural problems at the construction site in Boden, Sweden. Will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Field Civil & Structural Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to Construction on site in Boden, Sweden, mainly focusing on civil and concrete issues.
- Work with the site civil superintendent to follow the progress of the works.
- Interact with Home Office and subcontractors.
- Review the Level 3 schedule in advance to be ready with the necessary information to maintain the work progress.
- Support the Quality Field Manager to identify the requirement from engineering in the ITP (Inspection Test Plan).
- Review, evaluate and approve/reject any intended changes and modifications by subcontractors, interact with Home Office when needed.
- Provide adequate response to RFI (Request For Information) queries from subcontractors , interact with Home Office when needed.
- Prepare the TQY to Client requesting the approval of deviations, if any.
- Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager.
- Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments.
- Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines.
- Perform design verification.
- Prepare & review MTOs of foundations and structures.
- Provide engineering support as required
Reports to: Project: Lead Field Engineer
Functional: Supervising Department Manager
Liaise With: Home office, Engineering Disciplines, Subcontractors, Construction Site Fabrication Groups, and Document Control
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Five-ten (5-10) years of experience.
- Eager to learn.
- Working knowledge of English, both oral and written.
- HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious.
- Familiar with the use of codes and standards.
- Familiar with the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable. Knowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methods.
- Microsoft office experience.
- AutoCAD experience
