Your role and responsibilities
Join ABB Metallurgy Products, a global leader in Electromagnetic Stirring and Braking systems, where we empower the steel and aluminum industries to "outrun - leaner and cleaner." As our new Area Sales Manager, you'll drive sales in export markets, helping customers worldwide improve efficiency, save resources, and significantly reduce emissions. This role reports to the Global Sales and Marketing Manager, Metallurgy products, and is based in Västerås, Sweden, requiring approximately 50% international travel.

This role is contributing to the Metallurgy Products, Business Line Metals, part of the Process Industries division.
You will be mainly accountable for:
As a senior sales professional, you will take ownership of growing ABB Metallurgy Products sales in assigned export markets, managing sales volumes and margins to achieve ambitious targets, and developing strategic market plans for your designated territories.
- Establish and nurture enduring, effective customer relationships, understanding their needs to promote a comprehensive understanding of ABB's full system offering and provide aligned solutions, ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales journey.
- Drive the identification and development of new business opportunities, continuously analyzing market trends and competitor landscapes to identify risks and capitalize on growth potentials.
- Manage the techno-commercial processing of sales offers, collaborating with relevant internal teams to ensure appropriate technical and financial aspects, including pricing and trading conditions, in line with our sales processes.
- Prepare and monitor sales budgets and forecasts, and conduct market analysis to support strategic sales initiatives.

Qualifications for the role
- You are highly skilled in B2B sales within the Process Industries, with a proven track record of over 5 years’ experience, preferably from the steel and/or aluminum industry.
- Ability to demonstrate your experience in complex technical sales and customer relationship management.
- Good knowledge in steelmaking with emphasis on continuous casting and/or EAF steelmaking is preferred.
- You are passionate about customer success and possess a professional “can-do” attitude.
- Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a relevant engineering or business field.
- You are at ease communicating in English (full proficiency is required). Proficiency in Swedish, German, French, or Spanish is a plus.
