Right now, we are looking for a Senior or Junior System Architect in the Telia Voice Core domain. The team is responsible for managing the design, development and architecture of Voice Core systems for consumer and business voice services in five Nordic countries. For this reason, we accept applications from all over the Nordics and Baltics where Telia has Voice Core Systems.
As a System Architect…
Our teams are distributed in Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki and you will be part of an international organization working agile, and in the forefront of mobile technologies including IMS, 5G voice, cloud and automation. You will be interacting closely with other parts of Telia and our many suppliers, such as Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Sinch and Titanium.
Your main responsibility will be to act as a System Architect in our development projects and EPICS. You will be working in teams with operations and production management towards the Vendors and other teams and departments at Telia.
The role includes but not limited to maintaining a sound system architecture and managing the system design and architecture across development projects. You will be responsible for keeping development roadmaps up to date, performing design and requirements analysis during system procurement, and writing or reviewing high- and low-level design documentation. You will also manage system security by applying security-by-design principles and collaborate closely with operations, production management, and testing teams, while also handling technical vendor management.

To succeed in this role, you should have Mobile Voice Core and IMS competence with a solid understanding of telecom technologies, including architecture, functions, interfaces, and protocols. Preferably, you have experience in system architecture, development, engineering, integration, testing, and configuration. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and have a relevant technical education.
For this position we are looking for either an Experienced Senior or Junior System Architect/Developer. Below you will find specific experience that we value for this position. Seniors will match more and Juniors at least a few. Both will harbor a burning desire and interest to become an expert in the Voice Core domain.
Core Technologies and networks. IMS, 2G/3G/4G/5G mobile networks, telecom network design, SIP and Diameter signaling, STP/SS7, circuit-switched systems.
Platforms and automation. System automation, Kubernetes (deployment and management), cloud-based applications and services (deployment, testing, design, dimensioning), AI-driven telco configuration and automation.
Development and architecture. Writing HLD/LLD documentation, telco system requirement handling, technical roadmap planning, IP network basics, network dimensioning, telco security design.
WoW and vendor experience. SAFe/Agile methodologies, experience working with vendors such as Nokia, Ericsson, Sinch, or NetNumber.
