We are looking for a Site Engineering Manager who is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the customer site, managing the day-to-day relationship with the customer's on-site management team, and delivering the relevant contractual requirements.
ICA Sweden partners with TGW for the delivery of an automation solution for the warehouse operations of ICA's newest cold store in Hacksta, Västerås, which should go-live in January 2026.
The new highly automated cold storage facility is approximately 23,000 square metres, and TGW will deliver the automation solution for the warehouse operation of the new warehouse.
The solution from TGW consists of a 30-metre-high fully automated pallet warehouse with a dynamic shuttle system that provides direct access to each product in ICA’s cold store, which shortens the lead times for store picking.
Goods are shipped in sequence and packed store-specifically at fully or partially automated packing stations, which pack the store orders onto trolleys. The different parts of the automation solution are connected by energy-efficient conveyor belts for pallets, cartons, and parcels. All modules of the solution have been developed and tested to work in temperatures of -25 degrees.
As a Site Engineering Manager, you will be at the start of the realisation of this newest TGW project for ICA in Sweden.
Main Responsibilities
- You work with the TGW Key Account Manager to deliver the forecasted budget
- You ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and safe working procedures at all times
- You use internal networks across Lifetime Services and the wider business to support the site and other colleagues in overall business performance and success
- You contract reporting and customer meetings, identifying successes and opportunities to improve
- You audit of all processes both site-based and business-wide wide to ensure compliance
- You manage site resources to ensure contract performance
- You look forward and plan strategic objectives for the life of the contract (Planned Preventive Maintenance plans, maintenance strategy improvements)
- You ensure that all elements of contract delivery are measurable to ensure forward contract budgeting
- You conduct regular 121's and annual Personal Development Interviews to support team development and performance
- You follow TGW processes relating to performance development to support team performance analysis so that excellent performance is recognised and underperformance is correctly managed
- You identify and support improvements in installation and products, feeding back to ensure we continually improve our customer delivery
- You analyse near-miss and hazard reports, shift reports, maintenance tasks, spare parts usage reports, and toploss reports to measure compliance against internal processes
- You work office hours from Monday to Friday and are flexible to support any escalation over the weekend
About You
- You have an Engineering Qualification, minimum local standard
- You have previous experience in managing a large team within a high-risk automation/engineering environment
- You have proven experience in delivering service contracts or managing internal customers to ensure good operational performance
- You are skilled in developing extensive cross-functional relationships to support business performance
- Preferably, you have an IOSH/NEBOSH qualification or local equivalent in Health and Safety and previous experience in Intralogistics
- You demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken Swedish and English
- Physically and mentally able to work in a freezer and low-oxygen zone*
