As a Product Transfer Scientist at Cepheid, you will play a critical role in bridging Research and Manufacturing. You’ll be embedded in cross-functional teams, representing Manufacturing and Operations from the earliest stages of product development through to full-scale production. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of science, engineering, and operations. You’ll collaborate closely with R&D, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, and Global Supply Chain teams, both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Manufacturing/Operations in cross-functional core teams for New Product Development.
- Partner with R&D to assess manufacturability and scalability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead or support technology transfer, process development, scale-up, and validation.
- Develop and maintain production documentation (procedures, BOMs, worksheets).
- Participate in post-launch changes and compliance projects.
- Serve as a technical advisor across departments to support smooth transitions into production.
- Review change orders and support onboarding of new team members.
Required Qualifications:
- MS/Ph.D. in Life Sciences with 1-3+ years of relevant experience, or BS with 5+ years.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including PCR.
- Experience in leading or coordinating technical projects.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences.
- Experience in manufacturing or operations.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing.
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO, GMP).
- Experience working in a global organization.
