Business Sweden has a unique mandate, assigned by the Swedish government and the private sector to accelerate the global growth of Swedish companies, and support international companies to invest and expand in Sweden. We offer expert support to companies looking to start exporting or expand their food exports to new markets. Through market insights, export guides, business opportunities, and participation in international food fairs, we help Swedish producers reach new customers globally.
We are looking for an experienced professional with industry competence within the food industry, to join our team in Sweden. Your main responsibility will be to support international markets with a global portfolio of projects and to ensure successful deliveries of the entire Business Sweden service portfolio.
You will report to the Head of Life Science, Digital Technologies and Consumer Goods, and lead or be part of projects across the organisation globally at Business Sweden. You will also build strategic collaborations with external stakeholders and represent Business Sweden both in Sweden and abroad. The position will be based in one of Business Sweden’s offices in Sweden, preferably Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö, based on dialogue with the candidate. We apply probationary employment in all applicable positions.
You will work closely together with your colleagues across Sweden and globally and the position will require occasional travelling in Sweden and abroad.
Your role will mainly involve, but will not be limited to:
- Carry out the export program's mission in Sweden.
- SME support, export consulting, export validation (initiating to some extent).
- General advice for companies of all sizes.
- Act as a coordinator for regional export initiatives and drive them in consultation with local stakeholders.
- Together with foreign offices, identify companies for activities in the export program's international trade fairs and delegations, etc.
- Support the follow-up of the government mandate with CSI coordination and provide materials for meetings with the principal.
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues, providing leadership and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure all projects comply with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices
- Identifying, proactively processing, and being a trusted advisor to SMEs and start-ups with high internationalization potential in the food industry, facilitating their long-term internationalization growth
- Lead the development of industry specific Point of views regarding international business development and expansion for Swedish companies

Formal requirements
- A higher academic degree (Master of Science or equivalent)
- Competence, experience and a network from the Swedish food industry – to be a trustworthy advisor to companies and stakeholders
- At least 6 years’ experience of project management, business development, international business, or consultancy
- Proven project management skills and experience in a multi-market context
- Proven track record of closing sales and having reached or exceeded sales targets
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English is a requirement and proficiency in written and spoken Swedish is highly meriting
- Additional languages are meriting
