We are participating in a project where Stegra AB establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Piping Fabrication & Installation Manager shall be responsible for overseeing, directing, and managing all piping-related fabrication and installation activities within the assigned project scope. The role shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Project & Scope Management
Assume overall accountability for the execution of piping fabrication and installation works in compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and standards.
Develop, implement, and supervise construction methodologies, schedules, and progress monitoring systems.
Contractual & Compliance Oversight
Ensure strict adherence to all relevant industry standards, legal regulations, and contractual obligations pertaining to piping works.
Approve and control method statements, risk assessments, and inspection test plans.
Leadership & Team Coordination
Direct, coordinate, and monitor subcontractors, site teams, and fabrication yard activities.
Provide leadership to project engineers, supervisors, and workforce personnel under charge.
Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations at all times.
Quality Assurance & Control
Oversee and verify welding, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Approve inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action measures.
Resource & Cost Management
Monitor manpower productivity, fabrication yard utilization, and site progress against project budgets.
Verify subcontractor invoices, progress claims, and quantity surveys for accuracy and contractual compliance.
Reporting & Documentation
Submit periodic progress reports, productivity analyses, and deviation reports to senior management and the technical office.
Maintain accurate records of fabrication, installation, inspection, and testing activities for contractual and regulatory purposes.
Desirable qualifications (not mandatory)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10 years of demonstrable professional experience in the planning, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems in industrial projects.
Proven expertise in managing large-scale projects within Steel Plants, Power & Heat, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical industries.
In-depth knowledge of fabrication methodologies, welding procedures, quality standards, and applicable codes (ASME, EN, API).
Comprehensive experience in managing subcontractors, fabrication yards, and multidisciplinary site teams.
Strong command of contractual and regulatory compliance requirements concerning piping works.
Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, and approve technical reports, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, with a proven track record of motivating and directing teams toward successful project delivery.
Capacity to perform effectively under pressure while upholding project deadlines, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Previous experience working with multinational and multicultural project teams is highly desirable.
