As our IT Support Manager, you will have an integral part in ensuring we stay on top of the market and continue to enrich and simplify the consumers’ lives.Samsung continues to grow and is now looking for an IT Support Manager for our IT Support Team. In this role, you will be responsible for successfully operating and developing the Nordic IT support organization of Samsung Electronics with a clear service-oriented approach.
You and your team of 5 work from the IT Support helpdesk in the Kista Office, covering the Nordics. You report to Eric Himberg, our Head of Process Innovation.
You will be hired as a consultant through a consultancy agency, working full-time for Samsung.
Role and Responsibilities
The IT Support Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and development of the Nordic IT support organization at Samsung Electronics. This hands-on position focuses on delivering IT services with a strong emphasis on operational excellence and direct engagement with the team and stakeholders, while also incorporating strategic elements to align with broader organizational goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessment and Improvement of IT Infrastructure & Services: Evaluate current IT systems and services to identify areas for enhancement and ensure alignment with business needs, guided by strategic frameworks from the head office and Europe office.
- Operational Leadership of IT Support Organization: Oversee the IT support team, manage skill sets, and ensure efficient daily operations to meet stakeholder expectations, while adhering to organizational standards and priorities.
- Implementation of IT Services: Develop and deploy IT solutions tailored to the organization’s needs, ensuring they are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with business goals while adhering to strategic guidelines set by the head office and Europe office.
- IT Security Management: Ensure system and data security compliance with regulatory requirements, such as NIS2, and actively defend against external threats, all while maintaining alignment with global security policies.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage the annual IT budget, optimize resource allocation, and ensure IT investments align with operational priorities, in line with the strategic financial frameworks defined by the head office and Europe office.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee relationships with service providers, suppliers, and mobile communication operators to ensure seamless IT operations, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and contractual standards set by the head office and Europe office.
- Process Innovation: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive process improvements and support organizational objectives through IT-related project management, ensuring initiatives are aligned with broader strategic goals and operational priorities defined by the head office and Europe office.
- Adoption of New Technologies: Leverage emerging technologies such as AI, Cloud (SaaS), RPA, and Data Warehousing to enhance organizational capabilities and operational efficiency, while ensuring alignment with the strategic technology roadmap set by the head office and Europe office.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- IT Resource Management: Operate and develop the Nordic IT organization with clear roles and responsibilities to meet stakeholder needs, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- IT Budget Management: Manage the annual IT budget as part of the corporate management plan and ensure alignment with IT strategy, guided by financial frameworks from the head office and Europe office.
- Process Innovation: Drive innovation in collaboration with internal stakeholders and head office to support organizational targets through IT-related projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- IT & Data Security: Establish and maintain IT security measures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including NIS2. Support IRP registration processes and audits, while adhering to global security policies.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts with service providers, suppliers, and mobile communication operators to ensure optimal IT operations, in line with procurement policies and contractual standards.
- New Technology Adoption: Actively integrate new technologies such as AI, Cloud (SaaS), RPA, and Data Warehousing to strengthen organizational capabilities, ensuring alignment with the strategic technology roadmap
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a comparable role or technical consulting company at a management level.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT project implementation, delivery, and operational management, preferably in a consulting role.
- In-depth understanding of stakeholder and internal customer needs.
- Industry experience in electronics and consumer goods.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in designing future-state IT organizations with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Strong methodological skills in problem-solving, idea generation, and project management.
- Proficiency in IT systems and infrastructure (e.g., SAP, BI tools like Power BI, Qlik, Tabular, Cloud platforms like Azure, Salesforce.com, RPA solutions).
- Background in deploying IT systems and planning implementations.
- In-depth understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
- Knowledge of cross-functional IT structures, legal and compliance topics.

- Strong customer orientation and service mindset.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills across organizational functions and management levels.
- Fluent in English (written & spoken); Scandinavian or Korean fluency is advantageous.
