Join Engineers Without Borders at KTH as Head of the Inspire Youth Team
Are you passionate about social impact, education, and inspiring the next generation of engineers? Engineers Without Borders KTH is reactivating after a period of dormancy, and now is your chance to help shape something meaningful from the ground up. We are looking for a committed and creative student to lead our Inspire Youth Team and help us reach and empower young students across Stockholm.
About the Role
As Head of the Inspire Youth Team, you will coordinate activities that aim to inspire children and youth to explore science, technology, and engineering, especially those from underrepresented or less privileged backgrounds. You will play a key role in promoting engineering as a fun, creative, and inclusive field while helping to reduce the socio-economic and diversity gaps in the profession.
In this position, you are a part of the Management Team at EWB KTH. You will build your own team of Inspire Youth volunteers and helping to re-establish this branch of EWB KTH.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Recruiting and coordinating your own Inspire Youth team - with support from the Management Team
- Brainstorming and organizing outreach activities together with your team and partners.
- Acting as the link between the Inspire Youth team at KTH and EWB Sweden.
- Participating in weekly team meetings with the EWB KTH Group.
The activities often involve tutoring sessions, school visits and creative events - always with the aim to inspire and engage.
What You Will Gain
- Experience working in a dynamic, international, and volunteer-driven environment.
- Opportunities to design your own outreach initiatives and see them come to life.
- A diverse network of like-minded people from Stockholm, Sweden, and beyond.
- Leadership experience and teamwork skills, plus the joy of working with young people.
- A flexible structure where you can shape your role with support from peers and mentors.
- A fun and friendly student community with informal gatherings and a shared purpose
Who We Are Looking For
No prior experience is required, just bring your energy and motivation. You will thrive in this role if you:
- Are passionate about education, equality, and EWB’s mission.
- Enjoy working with others and feel comfortable engaging with children and young students.
- Have strong communication skills and a creative mindset.
- A strong drive and structured way of working.
- Have experience planning activities or leading small groups (a plus, not a must).
Practical Information
- Start date: As soon as possible, with a flexible onboarding period over the summer (yes, there’s time for vacation!).
- Duration: Until April 2026.
- Time commitment: 4 hours per week.
- Location: Based at KTH, Stockholm.
Note: This is a volunteer, unpaid position as part of EWB KTH.
Ready to inspire the next generation?
We look forward to your application!
