We are looking for a Head of Group Tax
Billerud is undergoing a strategic transformation to become “One Billerud” – a unified, performance-driven organization focused on long-term value creation. Group Finance plays a pivotal role in this journey, driving operational excellence, enhancing business partnering, and strategic alignment across regions. One key focus area for the function, is to contribute to make our current ERP (SAP) implementation a success story.
As Head of Group Tax, you will hold overall responsibility for leading Billerud’s global tax function, ensuring compliance with tax legislation across all jurisdictions while strategically optimizing the company’s tax position. A key priority will be your contribution to the ongoing ERP implementation, where you will lead the tax workstream and drive the adoption of new, future-oriented ways of working. You are also expected to play an active role in shaping and advancing the broader Group Finance transformation agenda. The role includes leadership of a globally distributed tax team, currently comprising three direct reports based in Solna and North America.
Your main tasks will be:
Tax Compliance & Strategy
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation across all relevant jurisdictions and tax types.
- Optimize the Group’s tax position, ensuring the correct amount of taxes is paid at the correct time in an efficient manner.
- Manage transfer pricing compliance and documentation.
- Act as a business partner supporting operations in business decisions and tax-efficient restructuring, including M&A and joint ventures.
- Collaborate closely with internal finance teams, external tax advisors, and auditors.
Processes
- Oversee all tax-related processes to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Lead the tax workstream in the Group’s ERP (SAP) implementation.
You are part of the Group Finance function, and reports to the VP Group Finance. This position is based in Stockholm (Solna), Sweden. The role may require some travel within Sweden and North America.

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, we believe you have:
- University degree in Tax Law, Finance & Accounting, or similar.
- 10+ years of experience in tax, either in-house or from one of the Global Audit firms, with solid expertise in both Swedish and international tax legislation.
- Experience of setting up and maintaining transfer pricing policies, rules and processes.
- Leadership experience.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written.

- Experience of working in a listed company
- Experience of working in a manufacturing company
