About the role
We are looking for a Cluster Project Delivery Lead for the Nordics, who is instrumental in ensuring that we are delivering solutions that enhance the internal and external customer experience. Do you have a strong track record in leading teams successfully delivering mid sized to large complex implementation and improvement projects in the logistics industry? Are you a team player, do you have creative problem solving skills and do you like to lead and motivate people? If so, then you might be ready for our Cluster Project Delivery Lead role.
You will be responsible for successfully leading a team of project managers to execute midsized – large complex customer implementations as well as greenfield and bigger improvement projects for our 3PL warehouse and transport customers in close cooperation with customers, business development, solution design, operations, operations excellence and IT. Using the DPDHL project management methodology the person will ensure compliance of the Sales to delivery (O2D) process besides ensuring successful project performance in all projects within the cluster involving successful delivery of project objectives within the agreed scope, time, budget and quality.
The position will be based in Sweden and reports to Head of Operations Excellence Nordics with a dotted line to Head of IT Nordics. Travelling within the Nordics is required.
Your main tasks include
- Develop the understanding of DHL's Project Management function as a core enabler function that provides real business advantage in a competitive market and supports the business to grow organically.
- Be responsible for successful project business performance.
- Implement and manage processes to review and monitor project performance.
- Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability and delivery of projects to ensure project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope, budget and resource requirements.
- Monitor risks and implement plans to mitigate, escalating as required to ensure issues are resolved.
- Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to A-projects and X-country projects including of approval of resources.
- Manage training, career and development planning opportunities to build capability across the project management population, in line with global standards.
- Approve sponsors for A-projects and approve all level BCA at Cluster level. Provide reports to Senior Level Management on the function and status of projects.
- Reporting on project progress and Project Delivery maturity for the Cluster. Planview full utilization for all approved BCA as agreed with Regional team. Audit projects at request.
- Allocate resources appropriately to all projects ensuring early engagement and setting / delivering against agreed agendas.
- Acting within the cluster team and accountability for ensuring compliance with O2D processes and standards in all cluster projects and embedded at all levels within the business.
- Lead and coach the project & logistics team for new business / renewals to accomplish the agreed deliverables and business benefits.
- Build strong working relationships with Business / Functional stakeholders including customers in accordance with a well structured communications plan and ensure all communication is tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Deliver best practice project documentation, completed to quality standards, kept up to date, available throughout the project and maintained in the project database.
- Identify project resources, roles & responsibilities, SMEs required to deliver the business benefits.
We expect you to have
- + 8 years’ experience in project implementation or project management roles including minimum 5 years leading a team of 5-10 members in the logistics industry.
- Significant experience knowledge of the logistics industry and 3PL warehouse operational processes.
- University degree in the field of logistics, business administration or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodology (e.g. Prince2 or PMI) and change management methodology.
- Ability to lead and motivate a cross-country, multicultural team.
- Financial acumen and strategic foresight.
- Customer centricity and ability to inspire customers and gain their commitment.
- Ability to work in a virtual/ matrix environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to relate to all levels of staff and management.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Results-oriented and driven by goal achievement with a strong focus on high quality delivery performance.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced and challenging project-based culture, set the right priorities and self-motivate.
