Field Service Technician

Purpose of position:
Performs customer support activities including calibration, installation, service and repair of instruments and ancillaries on customer sites. Working on a wide range of customer sites, including municipal wastewater, drinking water, food, beverage, power and laboratories.
To carry out calibration/validation installation, service repairs, maintenance and calibration on equipment on the customer premises under the direction of the centralised dispatch planning team.
Support and mentor other Service Engineers in the team to develop and grow the business capabilities.
Actively participate in projects e.g. New product development, Service Process improvements initiatives.
Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
To prepare service reports and keep necessary service records.
To control own spare parts inventory and to ensure that spares and equipment movements.
Undertake visits in an economic way to ensure efficient customer service.
To maintain tools, spares, equipment and company vehicle in good condition.
To carry out or assist with other duties by agreement with (local) Service leadership.
To provide telephone support in response to customers technical queries.
To promote the sales of service work in the Sweden in conjunction with colleagues in Sales and Administration teams.
Critical Competencies / Leadership Anchors
Mechanical, electronic & electrical aptitude with a qualification in at least 3 – 5 years’ experience as service technician or in an instrumentation/calibration role.
Ability to read and understand schematics.
Computer literate and familiar with remote telemetry.
Good communications skills.
The ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Willingness to travel with nights away from home where required.
Holds valid driving license.
