About this opportunity:
Are you passionate about AI and advanced problem-solving in complex systems? This master’s thesis offers the opportunity to design and evaluate an intelligent AI agent for autonomous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in telecom networks. You will investigate how Large Language Models (LLMs) can combine structured and unstructured data sources—such as logs, KPIs, alarms, configuration data, design documents, and historical incidents—to reason like an experienced engineer. The aim is not only to detect and classify fault symptoms, but also to trace their origins and explain the causal chain.
What you will do:
- Research and design an LLM-based framework for fault analysis in telecom systems
- Experiment with retrieval-augmented reasoning, iterative hypothesis generation, and interpretable step-by-step RCA workflows
- Integrate data from technical documentation, source code, architecture diagrams, and historical RCA cases
- Apply modular AI agent techniques using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, and AutoGen
- Perform fine-tuning or embedding creation from company-specific corpora
- Deliver a proof-of-concept AI agent that can diagnose complex system issues autonomously
The skills you bring:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related discipline
- Strong programming skills in Python and JS, and familiarity with LLMs or agent-based AI frameworks
- Interest in system reasoning, automated fault diagnosis, and explainable AI
- Ability to work effectively with both structured and unstructured data (e.g., logs, documents, code)
- Experience with tools like LangChain, LangGraph, HuggingFace, AWS Bedrock is a plus
