Position Description
Technical Services is a globally recognized technical knowledge function in Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, supporting internal and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of products and solutions.
The Technical Expert – Technical Services provides technical support to internal and external customers following the handover of systems from the Engineering and Execution departments to the Services department (during warranty and lifecycle periods). The Technical Expert contributes to product improvement and development activities, supports field service activities, and conducts technical investigations into issues encountered in the field.
We are currently seeking a Technical Expert with expertise in Biogas/BioLNG to enhance our capability in performing lifecycle support tasks for the Wärtsilä Gas Solutions product family.
This role offers interesting tasks in a multicultural environment where you will gain deep knowledge of the Gas Solutions product family. The Services organization within the Gas Solutions Business Line is evolving to better support customers using Gas Solutions equipment. We are now strengthening the Technical Services function.
Location: Kalmar, Sweden
Responsibilities
• Resolve technical issues related to the Gas Solutions systems (Biogas/BioLNG Systems), products, and their components in the field.
• Proactively provide recommendations to customers based on data/information received from the field.
• Provide technical training to customers as well as colleagues in Gas Solutions, Service Units, and other departments.
• Create and coordinate technical bulletins within the area of responsibility.
• Support R&D and product development processes with field feedback/experience.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis for significant issues experienced in the field to trigger corrective actions and necessary product improvements.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify customers' needs and produce suitable solutions.
• Engage in cross-functional activities, including operational troubleshooting and managing customer expectations.
• This position includes a 24/7 support function to ensure continuous assistance and maintenance for our installation."
Requirements
• Degree in engineering (e.g., Bachelor degree) – Process, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical education
• Previous experience from the process industry
• Experience with Biogas/BioLNG
• Field Service experience is highly recommended
• Proficiency in Scandinavian and English, both oral and written
