Ensure Trust in If — Make Risk Part of Everyday Decisions
At If, we believe that integrity, transparency, and delivery build lasting confidence — with our customers, our partners, and our people. As a modern insurance company, a significant part of that confidence depends on how we manage technology risk: proactively, responsibly, and in a way that enables business outcomes.
We’re now looking for a Tech Risk Manager with a strong process mindset and the ability to bridge technology and business. Your work will help make technology risk understandable, actionable, and embedded into the way we make decisions and deliver value.
About the Role
As Tech Risk Manager, you will:
- Evolve structured, business-aligned ways of working to manage risk in tech
- Support teams and leaders with tools, facilitation, and guidance that bring clarity
- Collaborate with experts in tech, risk, and business to align efforts and remove friction
- Help answer key questions such as:
- How do we balance speed and safety in delivery?
- How can smart processes help us work better with complexity and uncertainty?
- Bridge the gap between technology and business perspectives
- Facilitate conversations, workshops, and learning across the organization
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility
We Offer
In the same way that we place high demands on you as an employee, we also expect you to place high demands on us as an employer. Here are some of the benefits of working at If:
- An including work environment where everyone is welcome
- Career and development opportunities in the biggest insurance company in the Nordics
- Social activities, as well as highly skilled professional environment
- Possibility of hybrid workplace
- Health promoting workplace with e.g., wellness allowance and various sports activities
- Great insurance benefits
- Lunch benefit
- High pension savings
About the Team
Technology underpins nearly every part of our business — from customer service to core operations. But with opportunity comes risk.
The IT Risk Management unit, part of the broader GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) function within IT Security, plays a central role in guiding our tech organization through risk-aware decisions. We are a small but experienced team with a passion for enabling good risk practices — not just enforcing them.
Our mission is to make risk a natural, value-adding part of everyday work — not a blocker. We support the IT organization in managing risk in alignment with both operational needs and regulatory expectations. At the same time, we collaborate closely with second line functions (corporate risk, compliance) and third line (internal audit) to ensure a coherent view of risk across the company.
Our work spans the full risk lifecycle — from developing frameworks and tools to providing hands-on support, training, facilitation, and follow-up.
Who are you?
You’re someone who thrives on creating clarity in complex environments. You enjoy building structure that helps teams succeed — and you see processes as enablers, not rules.
We think you may have:
- 3–7 years’ experience in Lean, agile, process development, or similar roles
- Strong analytical and structuring skills — able to simplify and organize
- Experience leading or supporting cross-functional collaboration, ideally in tech environments
- A collaborative, communicative mindset with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- An interest in broadening your experience toward governance, risk, or IT delivery
Bonus if you also have:
- Experience in agile coaching or scaled agile frameworks
- Familiarity with internal control, risk, or IT governance
- Understanding of regulatory environments (e.g., DORA/GDPR) or frameworks like ISO/COBIT
- Knowledge of cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT environments
- Experience from financial services or regulated industries
