About the role
We are looking for a senior software developer to join our team of 3 to help build the next stages of the Meela platform. You'll be working on features that directly affect how users find and connect with their ideal therapist — from onboarding flows to therapist matching logic and ongoing communication tools. Your work will directly shape the user experience for both clients and therapists.
The role is based out of our Stockholm or Gothenburg office, though working from home is allowed.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and improve backend functionality in Rust
- Design and maintain GraphQL APIs used by our web platform
- Collaborate with the product and design team to ship features users love
- Building modern frontend interfaces with TypeScript and Solid.js
- Help shape our backend architecture as we grow
- Write clean, pragmatic code that balances speed and scalability
- Debug, fix, and improve performance where needed
- Jump into other parts of the stack when necessary — we're a startup!
What we're looking for
- Senior developer with experience across both backend and frontend development
- A desire to work with Rust (experience is a plus, but not a must)
- Understanding of database modeling and SQL (we use Postgres)
- Familiarity with GraphQL or willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Proactive, independent, and enjoy solving real-world problems with code
- Collaborative mindset and good communication skills
- An interest in mental health and building technology that makes a meaningful impact

Extra plus if you have
- Experience with Rust in production
- GraphQL experience
- Worked in an early-stage startup or similar environment
- Knowledge of basic devops or infrastructure
