Job Description
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be part of a central platform team responsible for defining governance frameworks and building centralized services to enable product teams to efficiently build, deploy, and operate applications and analytics workloads in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
You will enhance the cloud landing zone and foundational governance (e.g., Project Factory), while developing scalable, secure platform services. A strong focus will be on enablement, automation, and self-service capabilities. You will also work closely with internal teams to advise on architecture and promote best practices in cloud-native development.
We’re looking for someone with a proven ability to deliver enterprise-scale cloud solutions and drive impactful change across multiple teams and projects.
Responsibilities:
Enhance and maintain the cloud landing zone (Project Factory) and governance framework used across the organization.
Design and build centralized platform services including BigQuery Quota Control, Slot Reservations, Workload Identity Federation (WIF), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Patch Management tools.
Drive automation and self-service enablement to streamline infrastructure and application deployment.
Provide advisory support to internal teams—sharing cloud best practices, reviewing architectures, and helping to guide design decisions.
Ensure that cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance and compliance.
Continuously improve platform tools and developer experience by identifying pain points and delivering sustainable solutions.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, IAM, Cloud DNS, Shared VPC, etc.
Proven success in designing and implementing cloud landing zones, covering foundational infrastructure, networking, identity, and resource management.
Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, GCP Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting using GCP-native tools or alternatives like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
Ability to influence and support multiple product or engineering teams across large organizations.
Solid understanding of cloud governance, security best practices, and DevOps/SRE principles.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
