Under general supervision and reporting to Operations Leadership, the Supplier Program Manager is responsible for managing supplier relationships, performance, and compliance to support successful program execution. This role acts as the primary interface between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure delivery, cost, quality, and schedule objectives are met. A strong leader with a deep understanding of aerospace mechanical systems, the Supplier Program Manager ensures supplier accountability to customer’s technical, quality, schedule, and delivery goals, and has a proven track record managing complex supplier relationships.
Job Functions:
Serve as the primary liaison between the company and designated suppliers for assigned programs.
Weekly Progress Updates: Supplier execution status, testing outcomes, and risk assessments reported to customer leadership.
Milestone Reviews: Conduct and document PDR, CDR, and readiness assessments aligned with project phase gates.
Qualification & Testing Timeline: Detailed schedule including test events, DAR/DER visits, and review checkpoints to ensure timely certification
Compliance with Customer Aircraft Specifications: All drawings, engineering data, and reports must align with internal design and performance criteria.
Quality Assurance Benchmarks: Adherence to AS9100 standards and customer's supplier KPIs for quality, delivery, and technical compliance.
Programmatic Consistency: Deliverables must meet contract-defined scope, cost, and schedule performance metrics (e.g., Earned Value Management targets).
On-Site Communication Role: Daily coordination between teams to resolve issues in real-time.
Escalation Protocols: Immediate notification and mitigation planning for any technical, schedule, or quality risks.
Continuous Improvement Focus: Identification and implementation of manufacturing and process efficiencies to support long-term program sustainability.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Aerospace mechanical systems and supply chain dynamics
Supplier performance management and compliance practices
Program or project management methodologies
Contract terms and negotiation principles
ERP and supplier performance systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Skills:
Expertise in aerospace actuation systems (hydraulic, electromechanical, pneumatic), components, and integration.
Strong technical acumen with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specs, and requirements.
Fluent English – reading and writing is required
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships
Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Time management and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail
Strong independent decision-making skills; excellent analytical skills and professional judgment

Preferred Education and Skills (including certifications):
Any combination of education and experience may be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
10+ years of experience in aerospace or defense, including direct involvement with suppliers and mechanical systems.
Experience with aerospace mechanical systems is required
Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated industries preferred
Licenses, certifications, & other requirements
Candidates must be authorized to work in Sweden. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Candidates must be able to pass a background check and work in a restricted facility.
Independent contractor status: in no event will Supplier and/or any of Supplier Personnel be deemed to be employees, agents or representatives of customer.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction. Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Vision: Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment: Typical office conditions, directly working Quality management team, working with the SMS team, and external customers.
Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime.
The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will occasionally drive long distances to and from various suppliers as needed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
