SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the implementation and execution of cost accounting methods and practices. This role manages cost control systems, interprets cost audits, and prepares detailed accounting reports for senior management. The position requires sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and broad knowledge of accounting principles and systems. The Accounting Supervisor leads the cost accounting team and reports directly to top management. Reporting to a member of the SSC Controller’s team, the Accounting Supervisor works closely with both the SSC Controller and the Country Manager to ensure accurate reporting and operational alignment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review supporting schedules and financial reports.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledger balances.
- Analyze and post manual journal entries and monthly accruals.
- Perform currency revaluation and related analysis in the accounting system.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of all assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Supervise Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and staff.
- Review AR reconciliations and ensure accuracy of ledger balances.
- Apply cash receipts to customer invoices and other non-AR transactions.
- Reconcile daily bank receipts in Oracle and apply wire transfers per client remittance.
- Investigate and resolve on-account cash, duplicate payments, credit memo errors, and prepayments.
- Process refund requests and credit card payment applications.
- Perform cash receipt reconciliations during the month-end close.
- Prepare and enter intercompany invoices and transactions across multiple entities.
- Review and reconcile intercompany charges and allocations.
- Coordinate intercompany cash receipts and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Review and analyze month-end journal entries including expense accruals, amortizations, and allocations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing explanations and variance analyses for significant account fluctuations.
- Coordinate with operational teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data.
- Liaise with operations and finance teams to explain expense variances and ensure completeness of accounting data.
- Support the Accounting Manager and SSC Controller in reviewing income statements and verifying accounting accuracy.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
- 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with prior supervisory responsibilities preferred.
- Relevant industry experience in lieu of formal education and /or required years of experience.
